In today’s political and cultural landscape, it can be difficult to argue that there is an objective truth, because in today’s age feelings and desires rule. In a word, sentimentality prevails.
Because sentimentality prevails, we applaud grossly immoral behavior in the name of fairness.
We cannot reason through issues because we wouldn’t want to be mean. But Christ wants more for us than to be subject to sentimentality.
He wants us to use our unique human reason to reach the truth about our world and the next.
John 8:32 says, “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
