The Bible is full of references of the importance of reading God’s word.
For example, Paul’s letter to the Hebrews says “The Word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword.” Psalm 119 tells us, “God’s word is truly a lamp onto our feet and a light unto our path.” And the cry of the Shema Yisrael from Deuteronomy, “And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children and you shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down. And when you rise.” Like the chosen people, God’s church is called to read, study, absorb, and apply the entirety of God’s written revelation. We can trust the scriptures to reveal God’s mind and purpose in our lives and situations.
You can trust the Lord, His Word is true.
